EVENTELIS GRANTED PLATINUM GREENTECH PARK CERTIFICATION
Tecnosinos StartUp Receives Platinum Environmental Award for Sustainable Practices
How often have you left an event with pockets full of flyers, leaflets, and business cards? When was the last time you used a plastic cup while talking to your colleagues over a conference lunch? At Eventelis, we ask ourselves these kinds of questions all the time.
Eventelis strives for better events for people and planets. We connect people to sustainable and smart event solutions through our mobile app and digital services. As a member of Microsoft BizSpark, SAP Startup Focus, IBM Global Entrepreneur, Amazon Web Services Activate, and incubated by Tecnosinos and Spark Center we feel proud to consider ourselves a company that is continuously moving towards more sustainable practices in all aspects of our operations.
In our quest for smart sustainable events, we constantly challenge the status quo of what resources you need at your event. Most notably, our event app gives attendees all the information they need without heaps of paper sheets they’ll either lose or find crumpled up in the washing machine. But recently, we’ve taken a few big steps that put us even further towards our goal of 100% sustainability.
This year, we were certified by the Tecnosinos Tech Park as a Platinum GreenTech Park company, the highest possible ranking for companies in the park. Our paperless app was certainly part of it, but so was our dedication to sustainability in many different aspects of our business.
At the office, we separate our waste into food waste, recyclable, and other. We aim to reduce our energy usage by turning off all electronics at the end of the business day. We also take steps to reduce waste by using reusable mugs and bottles rather than disposable ones, using rechargeable batteries rather than single-use, and we use refillable whiteboard markers to reduce PVC waste and plastic waste overall.
Additionally we make an effort to use servers that go easy on the environment. Our partners at Amazon Web Services announced early last year that they had achieved an impressive 50% renewable energy usage mark for their data centers. We are working on transferring all our servers to data centers that specifically use only renewable energy sources to further reduce our environmental impact.
As we work towards Better Events for People and Planets, sustainability is an essential tenet of that goal. We aim to continue working with event companies to build our digital presence while reducing our carbon footprint, and we hope others will do the same. We are also working on a Green Event Certification Program that helps our colleagues achieve more sustainable events.
If you’re looking to partner with an event management company dedicated to sustainability without compromising your attendees’ experience, Eventelis is here to build specialized solutions just for you.
